During the COVID-19 pandemic we must follow county and state health rules to limit the spread of this virus. We are not allowed to have visitors, guests or non-club members at this time. If you are not a member, please check back here to see these rules have been relaxed. Mahalo!
PaddleCore is a program for members to learn & enhance their paddling technique while at the same time improving their fitness. The paddle technique focuses on a smooth, quiet "catch", a long and deep stroke, and a quick return. Time may be spent learning in the club training tank and on the water with drills. Paddling occurs at varying intensity levels and there is frequently a friendly race at the conclusion. Sessions are about 1 hour in length covering about 3+ miles.
We ask that members arrive by 5:15am to help get marker lights on the canoes (if needed due to darkness) and to move canoes down to the water. After a short talk about technique and the workout, canoes launch just after 5:30am. Canoes return to the club by 6:30am. Everyone helps put the canoes away and meets for a short review finishing by 6:45am. Those who need to get to work early can depart at 6:30am when the canoes return.
Because of the popularity of the program, we ask that members sign up for the sessions they'd like to attend each week. Just click the PaddleCore event below and follow the directions. This allows crews to be created and the workouts to be sent to participants prior to paddling.
