Paddling Season runs from April 1 to July 31, 2020.
Practice times are:
- 11 to 18 years old (Na Opio), Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 3:00-5:00pm, Saturday 7:00-9:00am
- 8 to 10 years old (aka Manini) will start on April 27, 2020 with practice on Monday and Wednesday 3:00-5:00pm
- After May 29, 2020, all practice times will shift to 9:00-11:00am
The mission of the Na Opio Junior racing program is to provide a well balanced, competitive sports and cultural program that will teach, develop and nurture the youth of Kihei Canoe Club.
The youth learn proper paddling technique, physical fitness and water safety. The season runs from the months of April through August, All paddlers compete in the Maui Canoe Racing Association's weekly regattas every Saturday morning in June and July. The top paddlers then compete at the Hawaii Canoe Racing Association's State Regatta in August. For more information, contact Coach Vanessa Weiss firstname.lastname@example.org
Kihei Canoe Club proudly supports our youth with the Na'auao I Na Opi'o O Maui Culture and Racing Program, as well as hosting and sponsoring Maui High School and Kihei Charter High School for the Maui Interscholastic League's Paddling Program.
Dues: $50 (includes rash guard)
Please bring all completed forms (2019 KCC Na Opio Application

, 2019 HCRA Waiver
), along with a photocopy of your child's birth certificate to the first practice. Paddlers are expected to make a commitment to the program by attending practice on a regular basis, and attending all regatta races during the summer season.
