The season runs from the months of April through August. In addition of the Regatta Season, Kihei CC also encourages the older divisions to participate in Pre and Post Season Long Distance races. All paddlers compete in the Maui County Hawaiian Canoe Association's (MCHCA) weekly regattas every Saturday morning in June and July. The top paddlers then compete at the Hawaii Canoe Racing Association's (HCRA) State Regatta in August.Learn the CultureWe want the children to see that cultural practices and values are still relevant in today's modern world. Kihei youths will learn the culture and history of paddling, along with Hawaiian chants, hula, haka and appropriate protocols. They will learn relevant Hawaiian terms, and learn about sites on the island of Maui and around the state.
